Forty Day Seasons

We’re embarking on the trip of a lifetime. It’s a journey so many throughout history have willingly traveled. It’s an adventure that takes us beyond the normal and prohibits us from ever going back to settle for the status quo. It’s the forty-day trek that forever changed Moses, Elijah, and even Yeshua Himself. It’s the encounter that truly revives men and brightens the glow of their countenance.

We came to Spokane from Cyprus with a vision for equipping and training, in a missional community context, and along the way have gained a heart to see revival culture birthed in our region. After five years of ministering in the northwest of America, our hearts have been impressed with the Lord’s desire to see the establishment of a Gateways community that would bridge the gap between two seemingly different visions.

In prayer we felt the Spirit wooing us into a forty-day season of consecration so we could agree with His heart and be activated by His stirring.

Time and time again the number forty, attached to days or years, has represented a life-altering season for those who have accepted the challenge to press in for something more. We want more for Spokane and the greater Northwest region, so we also willingly embrace that challenge. We believe God is making the city of Spokane a gateway for the area, a place of entrance for heavenly activity.

Morning by morning a small, yielded group has gathered to worship and intercede for His purposes. We believe the impregnated heavenly atmosphere over our locality will birth the Kingdom when He breathes and we push.

Daily in prayer we have been growing in a deeper understanding of what it means to be those who declare the Word of the Lord. Declaration is not only speaking what He is saying, it is the belief that He has made our very lives the banner of His proclamation. We ourselves become a standard bearer or a banner for His name when the depth of His Word not only sinks into us, but exudes from us.

The standard or banner of old was a flag carrying the emblem of a king and it bore the identifying marks of his kingdom. It was also the rallying point for fighting men and for the proclamation of salvation.

So we raise the banner of our lives high and become a declaration as children of the King. We anticipate that, as a result, many will assemble in this region for Kingdom purposes and a loud cry will go out from this place: Behold, your Savior is coming!

Looking back in time, we see lives forever transformed by these heavenly encounters that took place during forty-day seasons, and we look forward with equal anticipation to what we will become.
